All current, former and future Chino Hills AYSO players,
Poinsettias and now the Sago Palms are on toxic lists for dogs. I know for a fact this plant is in many homes through my job as a real estate agent. I have had it in two of my homes and I have one in my backyard as I type. I was not aware it was poisonous to pets until today so I thought I would share this news flip from www.MSN.com talking about the plant’s impact on animals.
If you have this plant at your house and you have pets (or small toddlers for that matter) that may eat the seeds, please be careful and take precaution or remove the plant entirely from your garden or yard.

I am a big fan of School Choice in California and one of the biggest decisions locally comes as Oxford Preparatory Academy comes up for renewal. The school district has decided to reject the petition for renew which is baffling considering OPA’s track record, scores and now being designated a “California Distinguished School”. Please read the OPA response to the CVUSD recommendation to not renew the charter. I cannot begin to understand how CVUSD’s decision is in the best interest of the kids.

I stumbled upon this search engine on accident and I thought it was interesting. It’s called Kiddle.co from folks at Google. I thought it was interesting being that I have a 6 and 5 year old and already their school work has them/us on the internet and YouTube which I find scary. YouTube has a kids App which is actually pretty good but my kids have access to a computer most of the time and it’s time for dad to find ways to harness the reach of their searches.
So now with Kiddle, the search aspect may be covered. Below is a clip of the “about” section from Kiddle.co:
1) Safe search: sites appearing in Kiddle search results satisfy family friendly requirements, as we filter sites with explicit or deceptive content. Please read more on kids safe search on Kiddle here.
Typically, results 1-3.
Typically, results 4-7.
Typically, results 8 onwards.
2) Big thumbnails: most Kiddle search results are illustrated with big thumbnails, which makes it easier to scan the results, differentiate between them, and click the most appropriate results to your query. Thumbnails serve as visual clues and are especially beneficial to kids as they don’t read as fast as adults.

Ezra’s first day at Arrow Montessori School in San Dimas. We looked far and wide for a good private school for our older son Luca and we decided on this one after looking at all options at all price points. Luca has excelled SO MUCH in the month we have had him in Arrow Montessori that we have decided that our 2.5 year old needs to get a leg up and join his brother. The teachers are outstanding and truly one of the best decisions we have made. We do not live close to San Dimas presently but we will considering this invaluable asset!
